The QPR coach has denied speculation that his team could land the Bulgarian, instead claiming that it was all tabloid rumours.
Manchester United are allegedly keen to let the former Bayer Leverkusen man leave the helm, after he fell down the pecking order behind the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-Welbeck-c10233 and Javier Hernandez.
Berbatov, who was the Premier League’s top scorer in the 2010/11 season, failed to make his mark last term, after Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson relegated him to the bench. Though he scored a decent tally of goals, it is expected that he will leave the club this summer
after claiming that his time at Old Trafford was up.
The 31-year-old is reportedly considering a return to Bulgarian football but was also in contention with a switch to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Turkey-c3026, something which was ruled out by his supposed buyers Galatasaray yesterday.
An official statement from the Super Liga side confirmed that they were not pursuing the attacker and now his current predicament in Manchester has worsened with QPR also ruling out a return to London.
Hoops’ boss Mark Hughes recently spoke to reporters and claimed that all the reports linking the team with a surprise move for the front-man were false and that there was no chance of the transfer materializing.
"There are a lot of names flying around. That is a new one on me, in fairness,” he said.
"At this time of year, there are a lot of names flying around. But we prefer to get the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 done, get the business done, and then we announce it,” the tactician was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Berbatov spent pre-season with the United team that toured http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/China-c8926, but Sir Alex Ferguson has made it clear that the competition at the helm is proving to be too much to handle for the ex-Tottenham star.
With one year remaining on his contract, he can choose to stay at the club for one more season to try his luck and leave for free next year, but the Red Devils are keen to get some sort of return on the player, for whom they paid nearly £32.5 million back
in 2008.
