Hughie Fury reveals an offer has been made to Mike Perez and David Price – Boxing news
The uncle and trainer of Tyson Fury, Hughie Fury has revealed he has made an offer to the Rebel, Mike Perez and the Pricey, David Price, for a potential showdown against Fury on September 17, 2011 at the Kings Hall in Belfast.
The current British and Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion, Fury, who recently beat Dereck Chisora by a unanimous points’ victory in their Big Brawl on July 23, 2011 at the Wembley Arena in London, was desperate for an Irish title shot against Martin Rogan
but the fight could not happen.
However now the unbeaten pugilist, Fury, who has won all of his 15 professional fights, with 10 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, is aiming for a clash against the Cuban warrior, Mike Perez, or the Liverpudlian, David Price.
Hughie told the media he along with Fury’s team has made an offer to Perez’s camp and now they are waiting for a positive response.
“An offer has been made to Perez’s team and we’re waiting to hear back from them now,” stated Hughie. “Perez is a good fighter, a southpaw, and is well known in Ireland so hopefully we’ll be able to get the fight on.”
In the meanwhile, Hughie also claimed they have made an offer to Price’s camp and a response is awaited.
Though Hughie admitted David Price is currently set to take on John McDermott in a British title eliminator in November 2011, he said the fight is possible if Price comes out unstuck through McDermott test.
“We also submitted an offer to David Price and are waiting to hear back. We’d like to get Price into the ring now while the fight means something as there is a real possibility that Price could come unstuck against John McDermott (Price and McDermott meet
in a British title eliminator on 5 November),” added Hughie.
Mike Perez and David Price are both undefeated boxers. Therefore, it is fair to say whoever comes across Fury will put on a great show for the audience.
