Norwich City manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Hughton was disappointed by the 0-0 home draw against West Ham, but was hailed his side’s collective effort in the game.
The former Tottenham and Newcastle manager was appointed as Norwich boss in the summer following the departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Lambert to Aston Villa. Chris Hughton had big shoes to fill in, as Lambert had been responsible for guiding Norwich to two back-to-back
promotions.
Norwich had a dismal start to the Premier League, losing their opening game 5-0 against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The club followed that game with two draws. The first was a 1-1 home draw against Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314. Norwich should’ve won the game at home, but were unable to get anything more than a point.
After the QPR game, Norwich fans saw a better and improved performance against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane, where the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-c31222 Snodgrass. This was perhaps the club's most impressive performance
under Hughton.
Yesterday’s game at Carrow Road against West Ham also ended in a stalemate. Both sides had their chances to score a goal, but failed to do so and the game ended 0-0.
West Ham made a bright start to the game, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ricardo-c30950 Vaz Te coming close in the first half. The player’s deflected effort was cleared off the line by Russell Martin.
Norwich hit back and attacked the West Ham goal, only to be kept at bay by the excellent Jussi Jaaskelainen. Norwich enjoyed more possession but had nothing to show with it.
Despite the result, Hughton remains upbeat and has called for better performances as Norwich face a challenging fixture list in the coming weeks.
"We are where we are, but we must not fear any game - we have four big games coming, but every game is big and a challenge and we have to be up for them," Hughton said after the game.
"We look for the positives, we have not lost for three games, and we have not lost at Carrow Road so we look for the positives but we do need to be scoring more goals.”
"We could be saying that if we continue playing like we have in the last three games, we will get that win. But we are just missing that bit of quality."
