Norwich City manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Hughton is looking forward to his Premier League debut and is hoping to add more players to the squad before the transfer window shuts down at the end of this month.
The manager admits that he is keeping track of some players and the club's transfer activity, but will only add to the squad is the need arises. The club does not have a lot of cash to fiddle with and must make calculated decisions before swooping for potential
transfer targets.
Four new players have been added to the squad ever since former manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-c31222 Snodgrass and signed captain and striker Grant Holt on a new three-year deal.
The manager however admits there could be further arrivals, but only if required. He ruled out needless transfer activity and is happy with the squad for now. Hughton also spoke about the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Canaries-c38723’ scouting system and said:
"With our scouting department, we are the same as everyone else. If we have an opportunity and it's right and it's within the right structure that we have here to continue to strengthen, we will look at those possibilities. But it's got to be right for us."
"What's essential is that we go into the season, or we finish the end of this window, with what we have got and what we can have to be competitive enough."
Norwich recently hosted Dutch champions Ajax and held the side to a 1-1 draw thanks to a first half free-kick by Anthony Pilkington. The goal was however cancelled out on the half-hour mark when Lasse Schone fired a 25-yard screamer past Norwich goalkeeper
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Ruddy-c18892. The game featured new signing Robert Snodgrass who was signed from Leeds United last week.
Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 defender Steven Whittaker missed the game on account of an injury to his ankle. Jacob Butterfield also did not feature for the Canaries as he had picked up a knock on his knee. Hughton is however hopeful that all the new signings will be fit
for their Premier League opener as Norwich look forward to a second season in the English top flight.
