Hugo Morris secures 400m freestyle crown: Day one - Australia State Teams Age Group SC Championships
Day one of the 2011 Australia State Teams Age Group Short Course Championships saw the outstanding performance of Hugo Morris in Canberra, Australia, on Saturday, September 17. The session of the meet conducted the Boys 16-17 years old 400m freestyle final
heat.
Hugo Morris of New South Wales powered the wall with a record time of 3 minutes and 51.14 seconds to win the title on the podium. After the swim, Morris was pleased with his effort in the respective meet.
In the corresponding race, Benj Schreiner of Victoria earned silver medal on the podium by submitting an astonishing time of 3 minutes and 53.32 seconds. Jorda Harrison of Queensland captured bronze title on the podium by posting a winning time of 3 minutes
and 55.16 seconds. Meanwhile, Jarrod Poort of New South Wales was placed fourth in a time of 3 minutes and 57.32 seconds.
Jare Gilliand of Queensland earned fifth place honours with an impressive mark of 4 minutes and 01.26 seconds. Ridge Grimsey of Queensland was placed sixth in a time of 4 minutes and 01.68 seconds, while Lynd Goldsmith of Western Australia settled seventh
with a time of 4 minutes and 02.73 seconds. Adrian Waydock of South Australia earned eighth place honours in a time of 4 minutes and 03.26 seconds.
In the corresponding swim, Mitchell Pratt of Victorious was placed ninth in a time 4 minutes and 04.61 seconds, while Ryan Evernden of Western Australia earned tenth spot in a time of 4 minutes and 08.04 seconds. Hayden Lewis of South Australia wound up
eleventh with a mark of 4 minutes and 08.38 seconds, whereas, Jacson Robb of Western Australia earned twelfth place honours in 4 minutes and 11.18 seconds.
Dylan Harirs of Tasmania was placed thirteenth with a mark of 4 minutes and 15.37 seconds, while Alec Guerzoni of Tasmania earned fourteenth position in a time of 4 minutes and 15.45 seconds. Jake Mckenzie of South Australia finished fifteenth in a time
of 4 minutes and 15.68 seconds.
Additionally, Leah Neale took home the Girls 15-16 years old 400m freestyle title with a winning mark of 4 minutes and 10.72 seconds. Laura Crockart of New South Wales wound up second in a time of 4 minutes and 11.28 seconds, whereas, Alici Caldwell of New
South Wales earned third spot in a time of 4 minutes and 14.33 seconds.
All the swimmers of the meet took a huge ovation from the crowd due to their impeccable swims, while triumphant swimmers were honoured with medals and accolades after the session completed.
