The Mexican legend is in awe of Jose Mourinho’s team and revealed that he prefers to watch them in action over fierce rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
Real Madrid won the admiration of neutrals the world over with their season long consistent performances in 2011/12 La Liga season. The Capital club were rewarded with the Spanish league championship, ending their three year wait for a domestic crown.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-c16384 Sanchez took out time to talk about the heroics of Jose Mourinho’s charges as they lifted the Primera Division title with staunch opposition from then reigning champions, Barcelona.
Continuing on the topic, the former Atletico Madrid striker shared that he is impressed by Los Blancos’ playing philosophy which is a stark contrast to the one employed by Pep Guardiola’s charges.
Sanchez remarked that Madrid have a directness to their attack, a flair that the Catalan team’s slow tempo football does not possess, and have suited them well. He pointed towards their amazing goal scoring run in La Liga to make his point.
Sanchez also took out time to praise Jose Mourinho for fine tuning the Madrid squad to his liking, making it a balance unit of players.
He shared that he has high hopes from the Special One's assembled units as they have the ability to dominate European and Spanish football for a long time.
Such is the magnitude of Sanchez's aspirations from the current crop of players in the Real Madrid dressing that he sees them embarking on a golden period in which they can add three to four consecutive titles.
"I personally prefer Real Madrid's playing style to Barcelona's style. I like the directness and explosiveness," the retired attacker said while in conversation with Radio Marca.
"It's a style that has always served Madrid well. If we conceded once, we scored three ourselves. If they scored twice, we netted five times.”
"Mourinho has made them a perfectly balanced team. I am convinced that they can win three or four consecutive titles with Mourinho in charge. They might even bring back the golden days."
Hugo Sanchez also took out time to talk about nominees for Ballon d’Or, stating that he would appreciate if a Spanish player lifts it. He also had kind words for Cristiano Ronaldo and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296, who he believes deserve the accolade equally.
"I would love it if a Spaniard won it, but both http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629 and Lionel Messi deserve it, too. In 2010, Xavi was the one who deserved it, but things are more equal now. It would be wonderful if [Iker] Casillas won it."
