The Seleccao star claims that his side will be looking to take the initiative in the title race with a win over their fierce rivals.
A topsy-turvy season which has seen many surprises and some great displays of football has eventually boiled down to this. Benfica, who were flying high all campaign long, have stuttered in their last couple of games, allowing FC Porto to go on top despite
the Portistas being second best for the majority of the last few months.
In the last game between these two, it was a tense affair at Estadio do Dragao with the home side dominating proceedings in the first half and going 1-0 up. However after the break, the Lisbon giants countered and things finished level at 2-2.
This time there is everything to play for, as both the teams are level on points and barring a miracle the winner will probably end up as champions. The momentum is with Porto but Benfica boast enough quality players to beat any side in Europe on their day.
With the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marc-Janko-c23484 and James Rodriguez, it looks set to be an exciting and pulsating tie at Estadio da Luz.
Brazilian forward http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hulk-c16436 has commented on the mouthwatering clash and claimed that his side will do everything in their power to emerge with three points.
"The Classico is very important for the championship, I hope to get out there and have a great game. Benfica have suffered in three games already but football takes many turns and now we are equal. It will all be decided on Friday!"
He also added that despite missing a penalty in the last game with Feirense, he still retains confidence in his abilities and will not give up his spot-kick duties.
"I have confidence to continue to score penalties, no doubt; otherwise I would not have done it in the last game [Feirense]. Failure happens. Last time I failed, but I will try again in March,” the former Tokyo Verdy man was quoted as saying.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 travel to the Stadium of Light on the 2nd of March, with this year’s Classico potentially being the game which decides the outcome of the Primeira Liga.
