Hull City manager Nigel Pearson confirms Ian Ashbee’s request
Hull City skipper, Ian Ashbee has officially handed in a transfer request to his manager, Nigel Pearson. The news had flown in from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, citing a possible transfer before the end of the January transfer window.
The club considers Ashbee as a crucial player; hence, all proceedings at the club will now be jeopardized.
The manager informed that he received an official written transfer request from his captain. However, a decision is yet to be taken and the player’s fate is uncertain for now.
Ashbee was linked with a move to Preston North End on Friday. However, soon after the rumours started to circulate, confirmation of the link was established.
Should the transfer take place, it would allow the former Cambridge United player to play for the former Hull boss, Phil Brown.
After revealing the news of the transfer request, Pearson said that he was very disappointed with the way things were progressing at the club.
In a post-match press release, after his team’s goalless draw against Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314, the manager expressed his desire for Ashbee to stay; however, no promises were made.
Ashbee has been playing for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tigers-c40730 since 2002. He was left out of the QPR match following his transfer request. The manager enlightened about the whole saga saying, “I'll give you the facts as they are. Yesterday he came in
and before training, told me a club had offered him a contract - make of that what you will.”
He further added, “In the afternoon, we had a written transfer request. Apart from that, I'm not making any more statements on that situation. Those are the facts as they are. I'll see how that one develops.”
He concluded by adding, “Having said that, it's something that happens in football. The club have received a written transfer request from the player. Full stop.”
