Hull City's Jimmy Bullard ruled out for three weeks
Hull City midfielder Jimmy Bullard has been ruled out of action for approximately three weeks after suffering from a knee injury.
The former Wigan Athletic man suffered a problem with the joint during the international break earlier this month.
Following a series of scans, a prognosis has been given and he is likely to miss forthcoming games against Barnsley, Scunthorpe, Leeds and Preston.
Hull manager Nigel Pearson told the club’s official website, "Jimmy has suffered a meniscal injury to his left knee which will keep him out of action for an estimated three weeks. It is important to stress that this is not the knee that he has had surgery
on previously. Scans have shown that he may not need an operation, and as such, it is expected that he will resume training shortly."
Bullard has made four appearances for Hull so far this term. His last match was the 0-0 draw with Coventry City on 2 October.
The 32-year-old has suffered from problems with his knees for several years. Since joining Hull in January 2009 from Fulham, for a club record fee of £5m, he has made just 19 appearances for the first-team.
Bullard started his career with non-league outfit Corinthian before earning a move to Gravesend and Northfleet. In 1999, he joined the club he had supported as a youngster, West Ham United.
The midfielder was unable to break into the first-team at the Hammers, and was allowed to leave on a free transfer. He then joined Peterborough United, with whom he performed well in his 66 league matches. His good form saw him win a move to Wigan Athletic.
Bullard helped Wigan gain two promotions from the Football League Second Division to the English Premier League, as well as a League Cup final appearance in 2006. He moved to Fulham in 2006 for a fee of £2.5m.
