Hull FC signs three-year deal with Wigan Warriors front row forwards Eamon O’Carroll - Rugby League
Hull based English club, Hull Football Club, has announced the signing of the Wigan Warriors prop, Eamon O’Carroll, to strengthen their squad for their next season campaign. Officials at the franchise have confirmed the deal with the talented O’Carroll in a statement released on their website on Tuesday, September 6.
This long-term deal will help the club to strength their squad for their upcoming campaigns. This is Hull’s fifth signing of the season and has re-enforced their front row forwards squad.
Club officials has expressed their excitement on the acquiring the services of the Ireland international prop O’Carroll. Besides praising his strong build and ball handling skills, they have commended his personality.
O’Carroll has expressed his delight on signing the new long-term deal with the Hull FC. He said, “To be joining a club like Hull FC is massive. They are a huge club with a great history and a great fan base and I am very privileged to be joining them.”
O’Carroll has expressed his desire to play an important role for the club and bring success to the team. He added, “I am looking forward to getting over there and getting into pre-season and it is a move that really excites me, so I can’t wait to get started.”
The Wigan Warriors have also confirmed the departure of Eamon O’Carroll from the club at the end of the current season.
Wigan Warriors head coach, Michael Maguire confirmed the news of his transfer ans said, “The Club is obviously disappointed to be losing Eamon. Wigan did offer him a new deal but he has decided his future is elsewhere with the security of a three year contract and we wish him all the best.”
O’Carroll has missed most the 2011 Super League season due to the injury.
The 24-year-old O’Carroll made his professional Rugby League debut for Warriors against the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in 2006. He made five appearances for Hull during the 2006 season. He made another 14 appearances for Hull in the 2007 season, which was followed by his impressive 24 appearances for the Hull in the 2008 season.
In 2009 season, O’Carroll made just six appearances for the Hull as a foot injury ruled him out of the season. In his comeback season, he made another 12 appearance but failed to score any points.
The Oldham born O’Carroll made his international debut for the Ireland in 2007. He has made five international appearances for Ireland and has represented Ireland in the 2008 Rugby League World Cup.
