Hull Kingston Rovers hand over two-year deal to Sam Latus and Richard Beaumont – Rugby League

Hull based English professional Rugby League Football Club, Hull Kingston Rovers, has handed professional contracts to the duo of Sam Latus and Richard Beaumont. Officials at the club have
confirmed the signing of their Academy products in a statement released on their website on Thursday, August 25.
The Hull Kingston Rovers, commonly known as The Robins, two year deal will mark the start of the professional career for Latus.

Hull Kingston Rovers Chief Executive Officer, Mike Smith, has expressed his delight on the signing of the young and talented players. Talking at the occasion, he reiterated the Robins’ commitment
to develop and retain talented players, to ensure club’s continuous success.  He added that the next season squad features many talented players, who have joined the ranks of the seniors’ squad, after progressing their way up through the developmental programs.
Commenting on the signing of the duo, Smith said, “Sam and Richard are both players to come through our Academy structure and break into the first team so we're very pleased that they have
chosen to continue their development at Craven Park.”
The 21-year-old Latus has expressed his delight on signing his first professional contract with the Robins. He has expressed his hope that in the next two years he will become a permanent member
of the Rovers match day 17 squad.  He said, “I've worked hard over the last couple of years and got a few games under my belt so hopefully in the next two years I can kick on and try to cement my place in the team.”
Hymers School product, joined the Robins in 2010 season.  He made seven appearances for Robins in 2010 season and scored a try, in their encounter against the Bradford Bulls.  In 2011 season,
he made 11 appearances and scored three tries for them. His last of three tries came in the Robins' 24 – 22 victory over the St Helens, at the Craven park, on Sunday, August 21.  
Latus plays at the winger position and has expressed his hope that he will quickly establish, himself as good player.  
The 23-year-old Beaumont has expressed his delight on signing the new two-year contract with the Rovers.  He said, "I've been at the club for a long time and I wanted to sign a two-year deal
so I'm very happy with that.”
He is making a comeback after sustaining a career threatening back injury, during the 2010 season.  Earlier this year in April, after an absence of approximately 12 months, Rovers’ prop Beaumont
made debut against the Harlequins Rugby League.
He further added, “My aim this year was to get back from the injury and get 100% fit then make my debut. ” Beaumont so far has played two games for the Rovers in this season.  Like Latus, he
also has expressed his hope to become a regular member of the squad in next season.
