Hull Kingston Rovers land the services of Lincoln Withers - Rugby League

Hull Kingston Rovers have announced today, September 27, their latest recruitment of ex-Crusaders hooker, Lincoln Withers, on a two-year deal.
Withers had joined in with Crusaders in 2009, when they made their debut in the Super League. Prior to his joining in with Crusaders, he had made 154 National Rugby League (NRL) appearances.
There has been a lot of recent changes within Rovers’, biggest of them all being the uptake of Craig Sandercock, as their future head coach, who will be succeeding Justin Morgan. Sandercock has inked a two-year deal with the Rovers with the option of extending
his stay for the next year.
Rovers’ freshly appointed coach is happy with this uptake and stated, "I believe Lincoln still has plenty of great rugby ahead of him. His leadership and ability to make correct decisions under pressure are excellent traits he will bring."
According to Rovers’ new coach, Withers has not as yet reached his full potential and his uptake has increased the hopes at the Rovers for even better performance from his side.
With Withers’ uptake, the toll of the recent signings at Rovers has gone up to five. Other recent signings at the Craven Park include, George Griffin, Ryan O'Hara, Graeme Horne and David Hodgson.
The news about the former Crusaders’ duo, Withers and O'Hara, was already in circulation for quite some time after the withdrawal of Crusaders from the Super League licensing process, which had left the entire squad on the look out for future employers.
Crusaders had pulled themselves out of the Super League licensing process, because the franchise had become financially strained, which meant that it could no longer bear the burden of chunky pay-rolls of the players and the coaching staff.
However, with Crusaders’ withdrawal from the Super League games until 2013, the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have gained their license of Super League games unexpectedly, despite being on the bottom of the league ladder, with the lowest total points attained.

Withers’ move to Craven Park will not add towards Rovers’ overseas quota,  because  he has been granted the relaxation in the Rugby Foot League rules.
