Hull Kingston Rovers secure services of Ryan O’Hara on two-year deal: Rugby League
Hull based English Rugby League Football Club, Hull Kingston Rovers (Hull KR), also known as the Robins, has secured the services of the Australian front row forward Ryan O’Hara.
Officials at the club have confirmed the announcement of the signing of O’Hara to a two-year deal in a statement released on their website on Saturday, August 13. O’Hara will join his new team at the end of the current 2011 Super League season.
Currently, the Australian forward plays for the Super League’s outgoing team, Crusaders.
Craven Park based Hull Kingston Rovers’ Chief Executive Officer, Mike Smith, has expressed his delight on gaining the talented and experienced O’Hara.  He added, “There was a fair amount of interest in Ryan from other Super League clubs after the license
announcement and we're very pleased that he's chosen to continue his Super League career at Craven Park.”
Commenting further on O’Hara, Smith added, “We're getting a player with almost 200 first grade games behind him and who is excited about taking on a new challenge at a club that has aspirations to break back into the top six once again next year.”
O’Hara has expressed his satisfaction on the new two-year deal with the Hull KR, following the recent troubles player had to face at the Crusaders. He added that he was close to making a decision to return to Australia to again play in the Australian National
Rugby League (NRL).
O’Hara has expressed his hope that besides helping the team on the field with his performance, he will be looking forward to help the young players at the club to develop their game.
The 30-year-old O’Hara started his professional Rugby league career with the NRL outfit Canberra Raiders in 2001.  He remained there until the end of the 2005 season, and made 95 appearances for Raiders and scored 7 tries.
In 2006, O’Hara joined the West Tigers and remained there until the end of the 2008 season. He played 30 games for Tigers and scored a lone try for them in three seasons.  In 2009, he left the Southern Hemisphere to join the Super League outfit Crusaders.
He was simply exceptional in his debut season for the Crusaders.
O’Hara so far has played over 54 games for the Crusaders and has scored 5 tries.
The New South Wales born O’Hara has also represented the Country Origin and New South Wales side.
In addition to O’Hara, Rovers have also secured the services of the Huddersfield Giants winger Graeme Horne. Horne also has signed a two year deal with the club.
