I heard that we share 99% of our DNA with chimps/apes

so would it be possible to create a hybrid if there were no laws stopping us ?

i mean you would have to perform it through science stuff but yea

I'm wondering because there are donkey/horse and tiger/lion combinations

could it be the future of mankind?

  1. If we have a different number of chromosomes.

    Its absolutely impossible.

And technically, if could only be a species if it could reproduce.

    Alot of those crossbreeds can't.

  2. Humanzee?

But humans are also like 98% the same as rats :)

BTW it's rumored that there exists such a hybrid in more than one underground lab. They want to breed them to harvest their organs for humans but it's too controversial.

  3. it definately could be! everytime they think they have discovered all the animals on earth another couple show up....

it could definately be the future of mankind.... its a big world out there with so many undiscovered possiblities.

  4. Gross.... But interesting... but more gross

  5. Chimpman!

  6. <<I'm wondering because there are donkey/horse and tiger/lion combinations>>

The distance between humans and chimps is greater than that between the critters you've just mentioned, and hybrids are inviable as a result.

  7. The difference is actually greater. More like 95% similarity. I believe the difference will grow the more we understand and discover the intricacies of all the DNA. It's like Darwin thinking that the cell was a simple sac of protoplasm. The more we look at God's creation the more we see how truly amazingly complex it is.

5% doesn't sound like much but that is over 3 billion nucleotides.

That equals 150 million place changes. That's a lot of change.

The similarities would be sorta like the similarities between a Ford and Chev.  If you made them with proteins instead of steel and plastic, the code for making them both would be strikingly similar. Both have engines, doors, seats, tires, on and on and on.

So with apes and humans.  We share many similar tasks and functions so we are designed about the same.

It's a losing argument to say the similarity or differences support evolution or creation. They could support either equally depending on which world view you had.

I would recommend adopting the view that Jesus can save us from our sins.

  8. it is actually higher than 99%. they are a different species, it wont work. we are pretty closely related to mushrooms too.

  9. ugh I wanna see the r****d who said that

  10. Now a days you could mix human DNA with almost anything, even plants. but Humans are humans and Animals are Animals.

  11. The pregnancy is a drastically different length for chimpanzees (237days) and humans(266) so it wouldn't work. Also, we have very different types of bodies (look at brain size, arm length, hip to height ratio) so when the chromosomes cross during fertilization the genes wouldn't know how to make a body.
