Question:

Human Physiology?

I'm taking human physiology this upcoming semester. Its an advance science course that I have to take. I heard some people say you have to take biochem first, or know some stuff about biochem before taking this? Is human physiology really difficult?

I have already took general chemistry 1, and general biology 1 and 2. All of those classes I have made an A in. However, I really hate chemistry.

  1. it really isnt harder than biology or chemistry. you can appreciate the details more if you have taken organic, or biochemistry, but it isnt a must. If you are allowed to take it without taking biochem first then do it. maybe it is a pre requisite at your school so be sure to check.

  2. PHYSIOLOGY ISNT NECESSARILY HARD, THERE IS JUST ALOT OF INFORMATION AND MEMORIZATION.  IM SURE YOULL BE FINE WITH MAKING A'S IN THE OTHER COURSES.  IT NOTHING LIKE CHEMISTRY.

  3. Human Physiology is not difficult if it is studied with interest.main thing is that we have to understand it deeply. For that definitely Biochemistry will pay a role especially while dealing with metabolism.

  4. I don't know that you can say for sure if it will hard or easy for you, it depends to some extent to how detailed the course is. The human physiology courses I took as a Master's student in nursing were much more complex than the ones I took as an undergrad biology student and an undergrad BSN student. The medical students have even more difficult courses. I do not think biochemistry is necessarily a requirement before taking physiology. It would not hurt of course. I also did not really enjoy organic and inorganic chemistry courses, but took them and did well in them as an undergrad biology student. However, I really enjoyed biochemistry -- it was like day and night for me. So don't be afraid of biochem!  I think that there is a good chance that if you like biology, you will like biochemistry!
