no theyre not smooth enough to glide on across the water. theres too many friction on their body. and too heavy

yes, I took children bodyboarding on my back, and we caught many wave 30- 120 seconds landing on the beach. Its great fun, lots of laughing and great tao balance of life. The kids love it, and its so stress free. Try and use a bogie board or go to McDonald and borrow a server tray, you would skid on the water, and the kids love it....lot of fun. ENJOY! Its as fun as riding a swing....

That would hurt the person you are riding as a board and they are not smooth enough to glide along the waves I don't think it's possible .sorry=]
