Which one is better?

I like Human Weapon better becoz it's more professionally done.

Fight Quest guys are sometimes rude and one of them has bad hair.

  1. In my opinion, fight quest... because it explains more about the arts and it's more adventurous. I liked the Kung Fu episode!

  2. They are both good shows in my opinion.

Human weapon talks more about the history of the martial art than fight quest does.

Fight quest however, seems to be more brutal than human weapon, and they also seem to do harder training regiments.

Btw  wuboyblue, the big guy on human weapon wasn't a wrestler, he was a pro- football player. He had never done any form of fighting before the show.

  3. I like both of the shows actually, each has their own pros and cons.

    Human weapon

pros : techniques and moves of the specific martial art are explained

you get to understand the history of the martial art, and how it was developed

    Fight quest

pros: you get to feel what it feels like to be in the martial arts discipline, how tough it is etc

cons: no explanation of techniques whatsoever, and sometimes, one style may seem almost identical to another style- eg. the krav maga and kajukenbo dont seem to be a specific martial art but just brawling and anything goes

  4. Fight Quest in my opinion. It delves more into the culture and history of the art as opposed to just applying coverage to the techniques of it. History is an exceptionally imporant part of any martial art.

  5. fight quest i love seeing them get beat down baby

  6. Both shows have things they do well, and things they are horrible at.

Human Weapon really does a horrible job of presenting the art itelf. While I'm sure the training the guys go through in the two shows are pretty similar, HW presents it almost as "Here's three good moves from the art and why they work", and almost acts as if they guys never learn anything else in most of the episodes. Fight Quest does a much better job of showing the all-around training regimen and usually presents two completely different training phiulosophies on the same art. Largely because of this difference, I see HW as more of a show for non-fighters, and Fight Quest more as a show for practicing martial artists.

Human Weapon definitely has a better production crew. I've never seen a bad camera angle on HW, but most of the time in the final challenge on Fight Quest, the cameras are up close and zoomed so far in, with so many cuts to other cameras, that I can't even follow what's going on.

As for the stars of the show, Human Weapon definitely has the better pairing. The two Fight Quest guys are practically clones of each other, and they tend to complain a lot. I'm not a big fan of the fighter on Human Weapon (and he complains a lot too), but Bill Duff presents a much different perspective, and has more charisma than all the other three guys combined.

Ideally, I think they should move Bill and the production crew from Human Weapon and put them on Fight Quest, and just kill HW off.

  7. Human weapon, it is well produced.  They also featured a friend of mine twice, so it was kind of funny seeing him on tv.  He was clearly having a good time, and the two HW guys, they represent a good cross section of American athletes, one is very big and strong and a skilled wrestler, the other is a skilled martial artist and a normal sized guy.

I always like seeing a friend featured, even though we have to stick a pin in his head to deflate him.

  8. They serve their purpose equally.

Both entertaining shows, and teach about martial arts from different places.

  9. I like fight quest better, i think it came after human weapon so they had a good opportunity to improve on it but they are both pretty good
