  1. no 1 is C (the fingers have 3 phalanges each and the thumb has 2)

    no 2 is A. E cant be right cos gastrocnemius plantar flexes the foot not dorsiflexes. all the muscles at the back of the leg i.e. calf plantar flex (which makes sense cos if they contract the foot goes downwards) whereas the muscles on the front of the leg and the side would dorsiflex which also makes sense cos if they contract the foot goes upwards.


  2. 1. C-- there are three phalanges in all fingers but the thumb. Look at your fingers and see. :)  (the girl above me is wrong-- she didn't read the question and answered which is TRUE not FALSE!)

    2. E-- it's basically the calf muscle and controls pretty much all the lower half of the leg. Plus, it's the muscle that sticks out (is superficial) when it's buff! You can check here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastrocnemi...
