  1. Pacemaker, artificial hips, contact lens, cataract surgery, lens replacements, embryo transfer, CAT scan, antibiotics, vaccines, insulin for diabetes, treatments for leukemia, blood transfusion, kidney dialysis, and the heart lung machine were all tested on animals, just to name a few (very few). So if you know an insulin dependent diabetic, or someone who had a hip replacement, or a pacemaker, CAT scan etc, they owe their lives to animal testing.  


  2. Animals have shorter lifespans, so we can better test aging. Also, it is easier to test things that require everyone who is tested to have a near-identical background, which is not possible with people.  

  3. Medical research is the biggest practitioner of animal testing and the people who use those medicines are the biggest beneficiaries of that research.
