Human rights violations?

Question

I need to write an essay about 2 humans rights violations:

"Describe at least two examples of conflict occurring over human rights issues within the last two years between the leaders of two sovereign nations."

I already started the essay and chose the Guantanamo Bay prison, but I need another one that is fairly recent. I'm too tired to think. I wa thinking about China and their fertitlity laws, but world leaders don't seem to care about that one. I need an issue that world leaders have been vocal about.

To elaborate upon Bonnie S -- what about "Honour Killings" by parents of their daughters who have had s*x prior to marriage or who refuse to marry the person they have chosen.

Also, What of the imprisonment, or whipping or execution of women who have been raped and have given birth to a child of the rape. The charge against the female is "Adultery", even though she was raped. This happens in countries like Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan etc.

The Child s*x industry, especially the Child s*x-slave trade, is a major human rights issue.  Children are either kidnapped, or sold by family and parents, and forced to work in the s*x industry.  In Cambodia girls (usually Vietnamese) as young as 5 are forced to have oral s*x with clients and vaginal s*x when they are around 9-10 years old and older. Many South American girls from 9 years and older are trafficked in South America and into the US for all forms of s*x. In Indonesia, in the military brothels, girls as young as 6 are forced to have vaginal s*x which either kills them or severely damages them physically. (An Asian girl is physically smaller than a European girl and therefore cannot have s*x with an adult male until she is around 9-10 without physical damage. A European girl is capable at around 7-8.) Just think of what this does to the child psychologically.

--- A prostitute is a person who has s*x for money and receives some, or all of the money giving some to her pimp for protection or to a brothel for overheads (laundry, water, electricity etc). A prostitute may refuse a client if she chooses to do so.

----A s*x-slave is a person who has s*x for money, but receives none of the earnings, with it all going to her owners. She can be bought, sold, trafficked or killed at any time. Also, she cannot refuse a client.

Woman's rights in the middle east.  The required wearing of Burkas, not allowed an education, not allowed a male doctor when needing surgery but women were uneducated so who was suppose to care for them, and beating them because they were the property of the husband.
