I am applying for coverage for health insurance.. and I know my BMI is over what it should be...I tried for a different company and they denied me for insurance! I just need basic coverage..I am a healthy person, I just gained a lot of wieght when I was pregnant with my son. I had medicaid at that time, but now I need to find my own insurance. I have the options for cover colorado, but I do not have a checking accout? Anyone else out there have humana one? Was it fairly easy to get coverage with them.. I am attempting to lose weight but it doesn't happen over night!!! They are sending their nurse on Monday.. to do tests I NEVER signed for! So..I was just wondering if I should just keep looking for some other company or just follow through with this company? Anyone else have this problem?

  1. Get to know some basical knowledge of your confused field before taking any suggestion is a great idea. Here is great place to start off.http://health-insurance.tips4free.info/h...

  2. Did you apply through a local agent or are you acting as your own agent. If you applied through an agent (which, by the way, doesn't cost any extra) the agent would have checked the height and weight guidelines with Humana to see if you qualify.

It may be slightly different in CO but in my state the maximum weight for a female 5"7', for example, ranges from 189 with a couple of companies up to 279 with the most lenient. Humana comes in at 225 so it's not the most lenient but it's not the strictest either.

At this point your best bet is to go through the exam and see if they'll accept you and how much they'll increase the premium for weight.
