Are there any free range egg companies that don't debeak or kill "their" animals?

    the one's who claim it seems no one can come onto their premesis.

    interesting, don't you think?

    and those who made claims were investigated and later found out that no, they weren't.


  2. You might be able to find a more "ethical" egg producer in your area if you look here http://www.sustainabletable.org/ and put in your zip code in the box on the right (For the US and Canada).

    They will have listings on farms near your area or farms that may be considered sustainable and more humane. Although since an unproductive egg-laying hen doesn't make money, I'm sure most operations would still slaughter them.

  3. If you wanted humane, you'd have better luck going to a farmer's market.

  4. Short of finding someone you know who raises her own hens where you can see the living conditions to ensure she doesn't debeak or kill the hens (and the baby male layer chicks), no.

    And remember that products in the grocery store that contain eggs are often battery cage hens or so-called free-range.
