Question:

Humans are primitive because?

we are primitive because

-We see death as a sad thing, when in fact it is part of the cycle

-We believe in most religions. I am not saying religions are bad when all religions are about believing, loving, which is really what this new age spirituality is all about

-For believing mainstream media and politics when for centuries they have all been lies.

-For thinking things will always stay the same way, or at least close to it

What other ways are humans primitive?

  1. Humans are primitive because we are the only species dumb enough to deliberately prey upon on another for anything and everything.

  2. If so,

I believe animals are quite advanced

-are they even intelletually capable of being aware of death except when just that moment before it? if not, they will not be sad about it as they aren't even aware of it.

-no animal is known to worship any deity or the statue of one

-animals do not engage in acitivities such as politics

-do they even think at all?

in what other ways are they advanced?

  3. Humans were primitive

  4. Primitive compared to what? Primitive means being an early version of something, for example, a primitive flying machine compared to today's jets. So what is the more advanced form you are saying we humans are primitive compared to? I suppos you could look at science fictional life forms, advanced beings like the Martians in HG Wells' War of the Worlds.

This said, I also think you are mistaken on a number of your points that you think make us primitive.

    a) Death is sad even if it is part of larger cycles. Missing someone you will never meet again and love is rightly experienced as sad if one is a higher life form. Knowing my beloved mother is now dispersed through the biogeochemical cycles of earth, being recycled as it were, that I am probably breathing in carbon (CO2) that once was her is something I well understand. But I am still sad she is gone. Truly "primitive" life like amoebas presumably don't mourn.

    b) I see no reason to think of religions with their incredible versions of that which lies beyond the senss as primitive - and I am an atheist, an atheist who has walked through great churches and mosques and sees nothing like primitive there.

    c) The comment on believing mainstream media is very simplistic, first because not everyone at all believes media reports and second because our distant ancestors had no such media and so our belief in it is hardly primitive. Stupid, perhaps, but hardly primitive.

    d) Again, many, many people accept change as natural. Sometimes we would like to hold "time in a bottle" but few really expect that to be possible.

Verdict: many strange things modern humans are, but "primitive" ain't one!

So a suggestion: look up primitive before using it the way you have.
