I just moved to a wooded area and my house has been very humid this summer. I do not have air conditioning and I have the windows open most of the time. So, I'm getting most of my humidity from the outside. I've cleared away a lot of vegetation and trees from around my house but everything is still very humid. I've got mildew on the north side of the house and moss growing on the roof. Should I clear more trees? Is an air conditioner the best option to maintain a safe humidity level? Are there options for improving the humidity in the area outside my house (ie removing trees for more sunlight)?
