my room is above the heaters and stuff in the basement but i dont think thats the problem. we have most of the windows open in the house including a door. but i always have my fan on in my room on like the highest speed and its still humid in there! i recently got a new bed set to i dont have a comfator anymore and im not AS hot as i used to b but its still very humid how do i get it unhumid. also i we do put on the AC but it only goes down a degree an hr. so thats like no help. bsides telling me to get the AC fixed tell me what i can do in the meantime! thnxx

  1. You say the AC only gets the temperature down a degree per hour.  The AC must be properly sized for the room.  If it is too big it will short cycle, meaning it will get the temp down, but the humidity will remain.  Too small and it will run for a very long time and have little affect.  A dehumidifier will improve the humidity, however it creates heat of its own, and you will have to empty a bucket or run a drain line.  It sounds like you should get a larger AC.  In the meantime if you have multiple windows you can set up window fans to get cross ventilation which will improve the "feel" of the air.  Hope this info helps.


  2. If you have the windows open and the A/C on, you're trying to cool the entire outdoors!  Close the windows so the A/C can reduce the humidity and temperature.  If the A/C is in a bedroom, you can close that door (and windows) to cool that bedroom more quickly.

  3. buy a dehumidifier.  My bedroom is the same way!  It sucks.
