The Borussia Dortmund central defender has expressed his satisfaction over his team’s performance in the 1-1 draw against Manchester City.
The German champions showed their class against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League fixture on Wednesday at the Etihad Stadium as they dominated the proceedings, but were unfortunate not to take all three points from the
game in the end.

The Manchester City shot stopper made some vital saves to deny Mario Gotze and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-Lewandowski-c31255 in front of goal and secured a point for the home side. Hummels is satisfied that the side has learnt from the mistakes in Europe
in the previous seasons, and is hopeful that the team continues to play in this fashion.
“We struggled a bit in the early stages, and lacked confidence in the opening 20 minutes. Then it got better and after the opening goal our confidence returned. We know that we are very good offensively, and today we also did really
well defensively again. We showed BVB’s true colours again,” the German international was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, in-form midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is targeting consistent performances in the remaining games of the group stage also. The midfielder is confident that his side has the potential to go a long way in the competition
and is aiming to reach the knock-out stages first.
“We had to work to get ourselves into the game which took some 20 minutes. Then we started to move the ball better and were also more solid at the back. We dominated the rest of the game and picked up a deserved win,” he concluded.
Borussia Dortmund will next face Real Madrid at home on October 24.
