Hummer question for owners only?

ok so me and my friend want to go on a road trip from new york city to california. hummers take 8miles per gallon does anyone no how much it would cost [gas wise] to go that far??

p.s

my friend keri says it cost 100$$ to fill it up everytime is this true thnx

You're probably talking about a Hummer H2.  Fuel-economy is not its strong point.  You're lookin at 280+ gallons of gas ....about $750 at $2.67/gallon.  

The 32 gallon fuel tank costs about $80 to fill if it's almost empty.  

Do yourself a favor and rent something fuel efficient.

Hummers are  not GAS vehicles unless your friend has the fake H2-H3s

the REAL Hummers / H1s are Diesel Turbo and get fair mileage for the size and weight  of the vehicle.

Possible $150 less in fuel than the Gas Hummers.

They sold H1's in Diesel and Gas versions.

H2's which are based off of Suburbans are Gas

H3's which are based off of Blazers are Gas.

Do yourself a favor, rent a car, save a whole lotta money.
