  1. This is one area that has not been properly addressed. The USEPA page has lots of information on what USEPA is thinking about doing and what they can not do on the open sea. Many of these ships do treat their waste and have UV disinfection systems to destroy bacteria.  Much like would be found in a small municipal system.

  2. dunnage is flushed out to sea,, "feeds the fish" and garbage is compacted and picked up at port.

  3. Under envoirment act they are bound to disposed of waste after it's treatment, but still some scope do exists to create pollution in sea through their dirty sewage and garbage as i believe.

  4. where do you think our land garbage goes? To the sea. They get treated & released slowly into the sea. The ships too.

  5. Its natural.  Dirty  r u found today?  Before ur birth more dirty this world is.   Now somewhat better.  U r thinkng very deeply and the to the seas  nothing happens.  If anything happens there so many social workers, metlergy department, pollution department look after and their hands dirty  more than sea

  6. They burn it in the furnace at the bottom of the ship........no wonder why the rooms smell like that......

  7. Good question...I wonder too...

  8. The garbage is divided into paper, plastic etc. and each cruise line has contracts at different ports to recyle this. Has for the sewage they have holding tanks much like camping trailer and it too is dumped at different ports. Have been on many cruises and have seen this being done. Many years ago they did dump out to sea but, it is now regulated and at each port a log is kept with either weught or gallons by date & ship.

  9. they get disposed when they get back to the port...

  10. First of all gross why would u wanna know that!
