Hungry Jacks experience vent?

So I just went to Hungry Jacks (aka Burger King) for dinner and asked for a kids club meal but would like some lettuce and tomato on the burger.

I was then told " Ummmm... we arent allowed to do that"

Excuse me??? Didnt I just visit the restaurant famously known for advertising that I can "have it my way"?

So my question is this.... if I asked the manager to be put in writing and the manager does so, can Hungry Jacks be sued for falsly advertising?

  1. yes

  2. you should try

how do u not put lettuce and tomato on a burger??

  3. When I worked there (between 2000 and 2005) we were also told that we couldn't add salads to cheeseburgers as it meant that they were essentially getting a Whopper Jr. for the price of a cheeseburger. Apparently their Point of Sales Systems didn't charge for extra lettuce and tomato (at that point, eventually I recall tomato being charged at 20 cents).

However, I would always do it anyways, or, if the manager was around, ring it up as a small whopper jr meal and just give the toy for free.

It is a stupid, head office policy to ensure they aren't losing money, and I was going to have no part in it. I was constantly finding ways to charge the customer for less, just to try to stick it to the corporation- For instance, did you know that it is cheaper to order a Whopper/ Whopper Jr with no meat, and then purchase the meat separately?

  4. Go for it.

  5. You should try, i don't like hungry jack's n e waiiz

  6. The motto is "Have it your way..." You can add or minus andthing. Have extra, or a bit less of something.

If you order a kids meal with the burger add Lettuce and Tomato - they have to do it. If you ask to *** or "heavy" 3 items, they will charge you 50c, but that is it. One or two items - are FREE, and they must stick to their motto.

I know because I have worked in HJ's for 4 years. We get orders like that all the time, it's no big deal. At maccas however, they charge you like 80c for a piece of tomato...
