in the January transfer window as he had only six months left on his previous deal.
The prolific goalscorer claimed that he mulled over his decision for a very long time. He analysed his other options and finally decided to stay put for another few years. He was very thankful to the Miners for being so patient
and understanding his choice to take his time to sign the contract extension.
"I've thought about this decision long and hard and I'm very grateful that the club officials allowed me the time to do so," the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven, Real Madrid and AC Milan star was quoted as saying in an interview.
Moreover, he further added that this was the best move for his career as he really enjoys playing for the Bundesliga giants. He suggested that Schalke is like his home, and the supporters really get behind him through thick and
thin.
"But now I've made the choice I'm most comfortable with,” he added.
