Huntelaar claimed that it was a perfect victory for his team. He stated that the team showed with the performance that they can beat any team in the league and that they are genuine contenders for the title.
The Dutch international rued missed chances in the game and admitted that he could have scored as many as two goals. He added that it is great that many different players are getting goals for the team and it shows the quality
the current Schalke side has.
“The win was the perfect start for us. We showed that we deserve to be right there in the title race. I could have scored twice but unfortunately it wasn't to be. But as long as we win as a team that's more important,” he was quoted
as saying in an interview.

both very important for us,” he concluded.
Schalke are currently in third place with 37 points from the 18 games played this far. Huub Stevens’ team will next face FC Koln in an away game on Saturday, January 28.
