http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Klaas-Jan-Huntelaar-c21175 needs time to commit his future at the club whereas Schalke bosses are eager to retain him beyond 2013. The striker has been in prolific goal scoring form this season and has attracted interest from many top
clubs in Europe. With Raul’s departure also on the cards at the end of this campaign, Schalke can not really afford to part ways the Dutch international.
Keeping in mind the attacker’s progress this term, the officials are believed to have prepared a new deal for the Dutchman mainly to fend off any interest from abroad. However, Huntelaar has revealed that he wants to concentrate
on the ongoing season and insists that he will make a decision once the season ends.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 international added that he wants to focus on his upcoming European assignment with Holland rather than making decisions regarding his future at the club. Huntelaar told that he would only be in a position to start
negotiations once his mind is free.
While talking to a local sports publication, the former Real Madrid star further added: "There will be time to gather my thoughts after the season. Before then, I want to focus on scoring goals and not let myself be distracted
at the European Championships."
On the other hand, Schalke president Clemens Tonnies believes that the Dutchman will extend his deal at the club. He mentioned that the Gelsenkirchen bosses are ready to invest to retain the attacker who at the Veltins-Arena.
"We are making Klaas a top offer. I believe that the well-being factor will play a role in his decision and he is very close to his Dutch home here with Schalke," Tonnies concluded.
Huntelaar has so far scored 22 league goals this season from 25 appearances and 40 in all competitions from 38 outings. This tally has already attracted interest from most of the top European outfits and it might be difficult for
Schalke to fend off interest from other clubs unless Huntelaar agrees to sign an extension.
