Miners and general manager Horst Heldt is happy to accommodate the talented attacker.
"We have made the decision not to hold any talks until December and wait how things develop. That's what the player wants and I can live with that," he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The club official claimed that he knows that the former Real Madrid and AC Milan ace is pondering over what to do and needs time to make an informed decision.
"I have the feeling that Klaas-Jan is not ready to make a decision on his future at the moment. We want to give him the time he needs to make a well-thought decision,” he mused.
"My goal is to convince him to stay with Schalke. We will re-open talks either in December or January. I demand a quick decision at that point, though," he finally concluded.
Heldt stated that he will try to persuade Huntelaar is stay at the German side. Negotiations will be held in December or at the start of next year. He stressed that after that he will want a quick response from the hit-man.
