Huntelaar set for a move to the Emirates?

Arsenal are reportedly set to make a move for Schalke’s Klaas Jan-Huntelaar, who is understood to be keen on a move to the Premier League.
The North London club are badly in need of a striker to help assist or replace summer signing and French hit man Olivier Giroud. The former Montpellier man has still not managed to kick-start his season with the Gunners, with time badly running out for the
club as they try and fix problems in their play in the final third.
Arsenal are set to make a cut price offer for the Dutch forward, which is rumoured to be around the region of £6 -£7 million.
The forward himself is keen to join Arsenal, and had been long linked with a move to the Emirates in the past seasons as well. Previously, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 stood in the way of the transfer, with reports claiming that both Dutch players did not get along
that well. It is no secret that both players share a major rivalry behind the scenes and for a starting spot in the Dutch national team.
Now that Van Persie has left for Manchester United, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 claim that the striker
may move to England as early as January.
Huntelaar was the Bundesliga’s top scorer last season with 29 goals to his name, and seems like a viable option for manager Arsene Wenger. The French tactician is famous for acquiring high quality players for low prices, and Huntelaar fits the bill.
Schalke had confirmed earlier that there had been various scouts from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 who had attended their last few games in order to get a better look at Huntelaar.
However, Arsenal still seem like the most likely club to secure the player’s signatures. With reports claiming out of favour striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marouane-Chamakh-c24294 may be on his way out of the club in January, the club may very well make a move for the Dutch star.
This will however lead to a number of options and problems for Arsene Wenger, who already has a number of forwards eager to play in a more central role.
Theo Walcott, Lukas Podolski and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gervinho-c14755 are three attackers who can be potentially deployed centrally. The Ivorian has had more chances than anyone else, but despite scoring goals, he has failed to make a case for himself in the central role.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873 has been in clinical form himself, but is widely used on the right to make full use of his pace and crossing.
Huntelaar could potentially play alongside Giroud in a 4-4-2 formation, but that remains to be seen. The player will definitely strengthen the Arsenal team going forward, since they already have a very strong midfield. With the likes of Podolski, Gervinho
and Huntelaar in the squad, Arsenal will prove to be a force to be reckoned with going forward.
Perhaps more competition on the bench will put pressure on Olivier Giroud and inspire him to pick up his performances and get on the score sheet more often.
