Hunter´s Light expected to prevail in Betfair Huxley Stakes (For the Tradesman´s Cup) (Group 3)
Hunter´s Light is expected to win the Betfair Huxley Stakes (For the Tradesman´s Cup) (Group 3) at Chester in England on Thursday, May 10, 2012. The winning horse will walk away with a cash prize of £31,191.
A total of seven entries have been confirmed for the race, which is scheduled to start at 14:05 GMT, and their names are as follows: Questioning, Hunter´s Light, Marcret, Wigmore Hall, Glen´s Diamond, Prince Siegfried and Myplacelater.
Earlier, Junoob and St Moritz were also scheduled to take part in the race, but they might miss out now. However, no final word from their respective trainers has come yet.
Today’s race will test the stamina of the runners to some extent, as the overall distance to cover is 1 mile, 2 furlongs and 75 yards. Moreover, the going is expected to be soft.
Looking at the current form of Hunter´s Light, the bookies have awarded him with pretty decent odds. He will be chasing a hat-trick of victories today and the punters are likely to place a lot of bets in his favour.
The four-year-old colt has taken part in eight events until now, winning four of them. In addition to that, he has also scored one runner up and third place each, which shows that he consistently fights for the top positions.
Importantly, the Saeed Bin Suroor’s trainee has done extremely well in recent times, which indicates that he will make things challenging for his rivals. He was victorious in his most recent run and is carrying excellent momentum with him.
Hunter´s Light will be partnered by veteran jockey, Frankie Dettori, who is one of the best in the business. He has won numerous races at a terrific strike rate, thus the punters will be eager to risk some money in his favour today.
Other than the race favourite, Questioning seems to be in a good position as well. His strike rate is not much impressive, as he has managed to win just a couple of races out of 12 attempts.
However, his recent form is not bad at all, as he managed to take the runners up spot in his most recent outing.
