  1. hunter mountain definately i love the night skiing there

have fun while the snow is still there!

  2. OK.

    Hunter:

    No Night Skiing

    VERY crowded on weekends.

Great terrain, especially on Hunter West.

Go on a Wednesday...you'll have the place to yourself.

    Windham:

Night Skiing Thursday, Friday, and Saturday Nights on limited terrain.

A lot of the trails seem the same.

Usually less crowded than Hunter, but it is smaller.

    Jiminy:

Open til 10pm every night...again, limited terrain.

Not bad if you have a few hours to waste, if stuck there for more than 24 hours I'd be looking for the first bus to Mount Snow.

Can't tell you what weekend crowds are like as I'm only familiar with their mid-week operation.

    Whiteface:

No night skiing that I know of.

Gets Icy...Like real ice...not what people in Colorado call ice.

Not crowded on weekends, but a lot of the slopes are being used for racing or something else...at least the times I've been there...maybe it's just my dumb luck.

It always feels like I have to ski over the same terrain to get someplace new at Whiteface.

It does have some great trails.

Lake Placid and the surrounding towns are great.

    You must have missed Gore:

In my opinion it is the best out of all of them.

    Great variety of terrain.

Sundays clear out relatively fast. Even Saturdays aren't too bad.

    The Double Diamonds are awesome.

  3. I have seen a blog just recently with all kinds of great snowboarding items like clothing, boots, and gear I also seen free video on there too for skiing and snow boarding it's a must see site just look around it's mixed in all the posts you'll see it it's enlarged text for the free videos, and regional conditions

  4. Hunter is a great slightly difficult mountain. Windham is very easy. Whiteface I hear is hard. Jiminy is a up class resort for once a year skiers

  5. Hunter mountain and Whiteface have no night skiing. Perhaps Yunah who claims to have skiied it at night was dropped in on parachute and brought his night vision goggles on some covert operation...before he woke up.  I never went to Windham or Jimminy Peak.

Whiteface is truly the most challenging mountain in the east that I have been to, next to Killington. They call it "Ice Face" for a reason. You ski the bottom half after a snowstorm, and it is all nice and powdery. Then, you decide to take the lift up to the peak, and wonder why no one is getting on the chairlift. Before you know it, 40 mph winds start hitting you in the face, and you see patches of straight up dark ice everywhere. I fell straight on my face and broke my goggles up there, and it was painful! However, it is the best winter sports town I have ever seen out east.

Hunter Mountain is an awesome mountain, and I have been there twice this season already. The only problem is the crowds. Expect to be waiting on huge lines on the weekends, and don't be surprised when some deushbag snowboarder who can't control his speed rams you from the back if you dare travel at a cruising speed. I'm up there a lot, so if you recognize this face on the lift say hi!
