  1. Pratice hand-galloping

    Jump and turn sharply

Set up two jumps and serpinten over them (make them low at first)

Get you horse use to speed while jumping

  2. Just start increasing your horse's speed around the course - take tighter turns and jump the fences at an angle. :)  Your trainer should be able to help. Good luck!

  3. You want to practice in hand gallop, so you know how to control him for the speep factor.

Also get him use to cantering close to the jump standards.

    Jump at angles.

Decorate the jumps with weird items like saddle pads, tarps, flowers.

Create sharp turns in your courses like rollbacks and lead changes.

I might come back and add more later! :) Hope this helps it helps me.

  4. more speed and tight turns in just lessons/flatting. jumper is all about speed, so just keep working up in speed levels, and keeping those levels--going around a course or on the flat.

  5. Work a lot on collection and distances between fences. Hunter courses have set striding, while striding in jumper courses will be slightly different for each horse (i.e. big horse-easy 4, smaller horse-forward 4)
