Hurricane Dolly is gonna hit us...Help!!!?

Right now it is 11:17 PM and Dolly's outskirts is supposed to hit around 3-4 in the morning and the actual eye of the storm is supposed to hit around 10:00 AM tomorrow. I am from Brownsville so we are getting the direct hit. Right now it's a category 1 Hurricane..I have a small place made out of cement..My bedroom is upstairs..is it best to stay up here..or should I move downstairs?? We have a glass sliding door..what are the chances of that breaking?>? Please, I need opinions..thanx!!!

Get the h**l out ! Get off the computer and at least get your emergency neccessities together. Go downstairs. Do you want to leave an address now, so the authorities know where to look for you when it's over ?

Well, to stay safe, NEVER stay by glass no matter what. Even if it is a category 1 hurricane. It shouldn't matter that your bedroom is upstairs. But just remember, never stay by glass. I wish you all my luck, and i will be thinking of you tonight.

ok well i live in browsville so im in the same situation

it isnt going to be really big like Katrina or anything so dont get really scared ....Dolly is only a category 1

there will probably just be some flooding but nothing too bad.

I think you should go downstairs during the storm and only go upstairs if it starts flooding.

I think you should wake up early and cover the glass door with wood..

it should be very windy and stuff but it shouldn't be too bad. i man if it makes to 2 that isn't going to be too bad but the only ting to worry about is the tornadoes that follow. i would move everyone upstairs cause of maybe flooding but i dont' think it will be as bad its generally worse saying then what it is and i wouldn't worry so much you are ok. if it gets where you maybe think tornadoe go to a place where there are no windows and most likely bathroom and stay there till its over ro basement but i am sureyou won'd have to worry just windy. take care and  rain of coarse hard but nothing bad.

leave the city go to a hotel where there will be less damage

stay upstairs  and have plenty of food, water, and a flashlight with you.  this will protect you if the door breaks and/or if it floods.  if possible fill the bathtub with water (in case the public water system becomes contaminated you still will have that to use).

Keep your ear to the radio.  It is now 0840 EST and there is a tornado warning for Brownsville, Texas.  A tornado has been spotted in Brownsville, Texas.  If you have not heard the warning, seek shelter immediately!

i prefer you to board up any windows and stay away from any windows and doors

turn of any utilities

take refugee in a closet or small room, on the lowest level of your home

if things get too bad lie on the floor under a table or a sturdy object
