  1. You guys have a hurricaine watch up for Tampa right now, which is not as serious as a "warning".   Looks like if it gets to you, it'll be Monday/Tuesday.  You should be paying attention to local weather stations and www.weather.com in case you are evacuated.

  2. FAy is supposed to reach Tampa. When it reaches you it is most likely o be a category 1 hurricane. Unless it turns or dies down it will hit your coast line.

  3. You can keep up-to-date on Fay and where she will land by using local news outlets from Florida.  There's a special set of links to them on http://www.USAMediaGuide.com

  4. I live in orlando and the news about schools will be announced tomorrow. It is directly south of florida and it could make a turn when in the gulf of mexico. The waters there are pretty hot so the storm could strengthen to up a few categories. According to the new track the eye is going to pass by tampa pretty closely, but not directly, around 2pm tuesday.

  5. Its not a hurricane yet - its just a tropical storm.  Whatever it is by Tuesday, it is likely to impact Tampa.  Keep watching the weather.

  6. I'm Guessing in Tampa you won't have school Tuesday because Fay will be there, what Tuesday Night, Wednesday Morning? They don't want to have the kids at school and not be able to get the buses to bring them home.  I'm in FortLauderdale and we don't have school today I don't know about Tuesday, but it's actually targeting Tampa, We're only getting the side of it (I think) So Good Luck & Stay Safe!

im in pinellas county and ther is school so far...

  8. Tampa will not be hit that hard. At this moment, schools are closed in Monroe, Miami-Dade, and Broward. You will get heavy rain and wind but not to bad from what Tampa usually gets.

    Btw, Team Jacob ftw xD

  9. Well, right now it is just a tropical storm which doesn't have as much impact as a hurricane does. Check out the site in my source. It has all sorts of things about Tropical Storm Fay. Weatherunderground.com will tell you all you need to know.

About school... I just learned where I live (Collier County, down in SW Florida), school will be closed on the First Day, tomorrow. They are still deciding whether they will cancel school on Wednesday due to the fact that they don't know if the schools will have power and how much damage there will be or even if there will still be some major thunder storms. Schools don't want to have to be in charge of students during a Tropical Storm/Hurricane.
