Question:

Hurricane Gustav... anyone else worried?

Weather advisors are now saying that Hurrican Gustav is looking to cause as much, if not more, damage than Hurricane Katrina did. EVERYONE PLEASE PRAY FOR THE FAMILIES THAT WILL BE EFFECTED BY THIS STORM AND PRAY THAT NO ONE IS CAUSED HARM. I live in central MS and we were even greatly torn by the damage that she caused. If another hurricane with that much power or more comes through, it will cause so much more devistation to the heartache that people have already experienced. My fiance works for an electric company and we are currently expecting our first child. Please keep all volunteers, workers, and victims in your thoughts. What are your thoughts and worries about Gustav? Do you have family members that were effected by Katrina almost three years ago? What changes do you feel this will have on your life and family? GOD BLESS!

  1. Congratulations on the baby!  Of course, I and many others will pray for those affected by this storm.

The good news is that the local and state governments learned important lessons from Katrina and they're probably OVER-prepared this time around.  It's highly unlikely we'll be seeing a death toll anywhere near Katrina's.  Governor Jindal has 700 buses standing by to start the evacuation, if necessary.

You can see the projected path of the storm, and find links to local TV and newspaper coverage, plus find links to the National Hurricane Center coverage of the storm on http://www.USAMediaGuide.com

  2. Oh honey I'm 6 months along with my first baby and living in coastal alabama.  My husband is in insurance....so we are in the same boat.  I will keep you in my prayers and please keep me in yours.  We are making the appropriote preparations but every storm is different.  We are just waiting for the bad news that I will have to evacuate without my husband now.  :(

I don't wish this storm on anyone....but I certainly don't want to deal with one while I'm pregnant.

  3. I live in Houston, Texas and by the time Gustav comes I'll  try to get my lazy butt up and evacuate.

  4. I will keep you in my prayers. I live in South Houston so we are getting prepared as well. God Bless that baby on the way!

  5. God is clearly doing this for a reason.

the particular region in question has been disloyal to the lord jesus christ and will suffer the consequences of the almighty god.

  6. YEAH MIGUEL IS CORRECT.

THIGH AM NOT GIVING AWAY EXACTLY WHICH CITY THIGH SHALL DESTROY JUST YET.

THIGH WANNA SEE HOW WELL THOU HUMANS CAN PREDICT IT FIRST.

    KEEP PRAYING, FOLKS.

  7. My dad is a cop. When Katrina came through I hardly saw him because he was taking care of the town and making sure people didn't go crazy at the gas pumps like they did in some areas. He was my biggest worry then. We live a in house with a few big trees around it so last time we all left but he had to stay here (although he didn't get to spend much time here). Fortunately there was no damage to our house but the winds here lately have been bringing down some major limbs and we might not be so lucky this time.

My grandmother is old and has heart problems. When Katrina took all our lights out, I had to rush her the emergency room for a breathing treatment. It was really scary.

Hopefully Gustav won't be as bad as Katrina. You be careful and take care of yourself and your baby. Congratulations on the little one by the way, but please don't name the poor thing Gustav. :)

    Good luck.

  8. Seattle had never ever been hit by a hurricane.  None of my family had been seriously affected by Katrina, but one of my cousins got her car destroyed.  A car, however, is not that important.

  9. Yes I have people who will be affected by the hurricane no matter where on the coast it hits.

I live in Texas and for whatever cold comfort it will afford you we are massing buses and aid to start immediately to the affected areas.

We are prepared to take 45,000 refugees in our city and all the other areas are doing the same.

I do not believe that the Lord is punishing anyone with these storms. Just keep your faith and make what ever arrangements you can to prepare yourself for the oncoming onslaught.

As for you being pregnant it would be a very very good idea to remove yourself from the immediate vicinity of the the possible track.  You want to stay close to your husband I know but you have that baby to consider.  Get to safety now while you still can go.

  10. Miguel, don't talk about my homeboy like that. Jesus isn't punishing anyone. Natural disasters have been happening forever, mkay.

  11. Oh, I pray it will land where it can't hurt anyone.  These things are so destructful and nasty.  I have been thru them before.  You are in my thoughts.  Best of luck to you, your baby and your family.  Stay safe.
