I was going through pictures that Yahoo put up. It broke my heart because they put a picture up of dead bodies. Did they not have some sort of shelter they could go to in Santo Domingo? Or did they just wait it out? Because it breaks my heart. And i have also hear Gustav has been updated to a Category 4...Do you know where it is supposed to hit next?

  1. I live in Louisana and i have been tracking for a long time now and it shouldnt hit to tuesday, and by the time it hits it should be a 3 or lower

  2. its supposed to hit new orleans i heard it on the news

  3. It is hitting cuba right now, then it is scheduled to go into the gulf of mexico and be upgraded to a category 5, and latest computer models have it making landfall tuesday on the LA, TX border, maybe near galveston or houston.  The more curve it takes, the later it will make landfall.  If it were to hit NO, it would be monday evening to night, if it makes landfall in TX, it will sometime tuesday evening, maybe wednesday.

  4. There is a lot of poverty on those Caribbean islands, and even though there may have been some shelters, the residents either didn't know about the storm, or by the time they learned of it, it was too late to reach shelter.

Now Gustav is heading northwest and will cross western Cuba late this afternoon into this evening.  After that Gustav will progress across the Gulf of Mexico and appears that it will make landfall somewhere over the central gulf coast late Monday afternoon or evening.

  5. Yeah, it killed 78 people in Jamaica; The last I head that it is a Cat.4 and may become a Cat.5 before landfall on Tuesday; It may die down before land fall and hit in between the borders of LA and TX. It's suppose to be hitting the west side of New Orleans; Impacting those on the west side of LA; Like W.B.R. and so on around the TX border. It's definitely hitting the coastal lines before moving up; Going west. When it hits LA and TX border it's going to curve down; Like a hook. I'm not sure where it's going after that; I hope not going east towards Hannah; Who's moving fast going northeast.

Says they are expecting it to hit west of New Orleans on Tuesday morning.  I also read that they are evacuating now and they are expecting this storm to have 15 to 30 foot storm surge.  Winds are now at 145 MPH, it is a Category 4 storm.
