Hurricane Gustav update?

Question

So is it hitting New Orleans right now? Or just the outskirts of it? So it is expected to make landfall today instead of tommorow? And is it still planning on being a category 3? When do you think this whole Hurricane will be done with? Thanks everyone :)

It's getting into new orleans...not fully there yet though. i actually think it'll fare better than first thought. i'm from right outside of new orleans and left, but just talked to a friend who stayed (although i argued heartedly) and they haven't lost power yet. i think they will lose it soon, but i still think we got lucky and it'll be better off than we thought 24 hours ago!!

It is going to hit the whole of Louisiana. 400 miles wide.

No, Hurricane Gustav is a Cat 2 and the eye of the storm has just made landfall in the Terbone Parish.

Gustave will not hit New Orleans.  It has made landfall to the west,  but the city is on the bad side of the storm so will still get a bad storm surge, thunderstorms, and high wind.
