i understand that i am not a meteorologist, but every time i look at the doppler i just dont see how it can jet to the far left really quick as they are predicting. Everyone in pensacola keeps saying not worry, we might get a little bit of wind, but no big deal. Do you think everyone is right? because in the news i dont really see anything on how pensacola is going to prepare.

  1. it might be a catagory 5 soon,  were on high alert her in TX, i live near the gulf,  I hope its not another Katrina, Louisiana is finally getting back on their feet from that

  2. I'm pretty sure it is hitting Louisiana mostly.(where I live).  My brother is at the NAVY base in Pensacola and they are not evacuating any of the sailors.  Always be prepared though, you never know for sure what may happen!  Not to mention Hannah is right behind Gustav!

  3. I think it's going to hit between Morgan City and Lafayette/Lake Charles area. I am resident of north of New Orleans and I am watching with a peeled eye. I heard them say earlier that with the speed that it's moving (15 mph) and the front coming in, that this is going to make it harder to make that turn to the west. if it doesn't make that turn to the west then all of the "northshore"(N.O. residents - you know the area) and the Baton Rouge and surrounding areas will get pummeled.

  4. Go to noaa.gov for the latest updates, as it stands now it is not forecast to hit the Panhandle but you will get strong winds; they go about 160 miles out or more. Just keep an eye on the news.

  5. Always have a plan, use the plan if the hurricane comes your way, be safe be smart

  6. because you have to consider like, where the ocean is hotter, which direction the wind is blowing, fronts.i think its could possibly turn east because of the cold front coming from the northwest.i hope not though no offense i wish it wouldnt hit anyone.

actually i just looked at the news and i think it looks like it could hit florida or alabama too
