I'm staying for hurricane gustav!

I live in Hammond!

My lights might go out and I was wondering what I should buy!

My mom usually makes the list(we stayed for katrina and were fine cause mom made the list of what we need), but mom has to stay at the shelters and help with them! I won't be able to see her till after the hurricane!

She has put me in charge of getting the stuff we need in case the lights go out!

so far:

i do have food

flashlights

batteries

colors

coloring books

what else can I get so that when the lights go out,

it won't be that boring!

I have a sister- 7!

my dad and

me- 16!

so what do you think would make this hurricane less boring???

please help!

  1. Get a  (battery) laptop for your kids to watch movies!

Sounds like you have everything else covered.

  2. board games stories build draw play games

  3. board games (if u have any) and music

  4. Don't forget a can opener, candles, blankets and pillows, your sister will not be so scared if you pretend to be camping or something.  Charge your cell phones or other stuff while you have power.  Know where important papers, photos, medicines are just in case you need to get to them in a hurry.  Stay safe and have fun.
