  1. ahh I think you are in the wrong category?! Anyways I think that no matter what city it is they should take precautions especially them because the city is under sea level.

  2. Of course it would be alot cheaper to fund a system in which New Orleans wouldn't have to run everytime a hurnicane occured and what I realized is that the funding that is received for these services are being taken advantage of, so to your question yes; I believe it would be cheaper and wiser to build a levee and a pumping system for natural disasters.

  3. Yes it would , but I guess that is why you and I are not in politics, what you are suggesting is too much like right. What an indictment on the Bush administration, New Orleans still looks like it did on the day after Katrina, and here we are wondering what will Gustav do, the fema trailers still house 7,000 families, This is unacceptable. What work that has been done on some of the levees, is lacking, they are not high enough to stop a category 2, and Gustav is expected to be a category 4.

  4. The same sort of evacuation happens every time a strong hurricane threatens an area - not just for New Orleans.  The hysteria over Gustav (yes, it's hysteria) is because the levee system failed during Katrina due to negligent construction by the federal government.  Had the levees been properly built there would still need to be an evacuation, but the hysteria wouldn't be around.
