  1. It won't be bad. You might have some flooded areas. My mom lives in northeast Florida and she went shopping today.  That storm system was partially over her area today. Hope this helps.

  2. well don't say hurricane to early it is a strong 70 mph winds t.s. not what K.G. said ---> "its not a hurricane u douche! i live in NYC n were gettin it worse then u... its jus a tropical depression, nuthin serious" well who is the douche now the only thing to expect are strong winds, gusts, tornadoes, storm surge watch this update

  3. I live on the beach in Long Island, and all we are forecasted to get is heavy rains and possible wind gusts of up to 30 mph. so you are fine.

  4. Probably will get a record setting rainfall in excess of three feet with winds of about 40 miles an hour or so.

  5. You have paper blowing all over your yard.

Hannah will not become a hurricane in CT

  6. Probably lots of rain

  7. Hurricanes north of the Carolinas are pretty rare.  Hanna isn't even a hurricane yet, but a strong tropical storm.  You folks in Connecticut won't get anything more severe than some nasty wind and rain.  Tropical storms and hurricanes weaken over land.

  8. It's not a hurricane or tornado. It's a tropical freakout!

Here are some tips to keep safe during this though!

    1. Protect your windows with boards of plywood NOW. Don't wait!

    2. Make sure you have food and water ready in the house!

    3. Bring everything you can from outside in asap! ( BBQ, Lawn Chairs ETCETERA)

    4. Pay attention to the weather on television or the radio. Never use the computer in a storm!

    5. Make sure your first aid kit is ready.

    6. Stay in a secure room with no windows with blankets, food, water and a small portable radio.

    7. Don't use candles, the phone or a computer, pretty much don't use any electrical equipment so you dont get shocked!

    8. Turn out all the electricity in the main panel in your house and gas too!

    9. Be prepared to evacuate if told on the radio to. Find out with your family where to evacuate to. Each member should have a small knapsack with supplies one for first aid, other food, other water etc.

    10. Save your pets! Get them to the kennel as fast as you can!

    11. Have ready to eat canned goods and a can opener at hand

    12. Have juice boxes and cans ready

    13. Don't have anything that you have to cook, as the power will probably go out!

    14. Make sure your flashlight and portable radio have batteries and have at least 15 extra batteries at hand as these appliances suck up batteries fast.

    15. Check trees and shrubbery. Remove any limbs that can fall off and damage your home.

    16. Dont remove water from your pool! This might rip your pool off from its secure area.

    17. Don't EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER leave your home during this!

    18. It makes more sense to use oil lamps to make sure you dont burn your house down and be stuck in the middle of it!

    19. Glowsticks work too and they prevent any small fire hazards. Get at least a 20-40 pack

    20. Fill up all your bathtubs and sinks and secure them tightly. This will provide you with extra water if needed.

    21. Wrap valuables in plastic or put in plastic bags with newspaper security around edges

    22. You will need a corded phone. Cordless ones need power and may shock you, but cordless phones dont require power whatsoever so you might be surprised if you need to call for a rescue team

    23. Mini Battery operated fans in case you get hot will help.

    24. You will need crankable flashlights. This is optional but this wont suck up batteries and only takes a few minutes to FULLY CHARGE!!

    25. Stock up your safe room with blankets, sleeping bags, pillows, water cases, see if you can rent a porta potty to be safer, Lots of canned goods and fruit and a can opener, at least 3 flashlights, at least 5 oil lamps, a few packs of glowsticks, extra clothes, extra pyjamas, any medication you need, aspirin, Battery operated radio, and a first aid kit ( See step 26 )

    26. your firstaid kit should contain : Bandaids of all sizes WATERPROOF, Small but sharp scissors, large gauze you can cut to the amount you need at least a metre is good, Adhesive tape, cotton balls, itch releif cream or calomine lotion, aloe vera gel, tweezers, a thermometer, and 2 extra bottles of water
