Hurricane relief volunteer?

Any information on orginizations who will be going to new orleans if the hurricane is as bad as expected? I almost went for Katrina, and I'm very intersted in helping out if this happens again... any info please? websites?

i live in BILOXI, MS, and we had it pretty bad after katrina, almost total devastation in some areas here. i don't know what we would have done without the thousands of volunteers who came and helped us out. a majority of them came from the american red cross, salvation army, and churches around the country (such as catholic relief services). if you are seriously interested in helping, contact one of those agencies. we're waiting out gustav too, and hoping we don't get it as bad as we did 3 years ago.
