Does anybody know how many hurricane and tornado shelters there are in Miami, Florida? If so, do you know how many keep pets and babies? Thank you all!

  1. Why are you asking this question in global warming section?

Don't you know they've changed their story on global warming and hurricanes?   After two mild seasons, now the story is that global warming makes hurricanes milder and less likely to hit land.

  2. I can just imagine someone showing up with a cat and getting into a fight with people allergic to cats.

Fortunately cats appear to be fairly able to survive in a hurricane. They will run like h**l to get out of the way of a tornado, I don't know how successful they are. I have seen lots of chickens floating up in  a tornado, and weirdly, getting out of the tornado and coming back down unharmed.  Maybe that would happen to cats too?

  3. Not to many keep pets. (They all let you have your baby!) I suggest you try to go to a pet-friendly hotel, quite a few of them open up when a hurricane comes.
