  1. I live in a hurricane area so I hope I can help you. Yes September is a peek month for Hurricanes, but you can't predict them and they occur whenever they want. The season starts in June and goes through November 31st, however there have been storms recorded before and after these hurricane months.  Usually the peek trend is from Sep. 4-10th but that is just a guideline and NOT a for sure thing. Hope I've helped  you some.

  2. The North Coast of the DR has historically been safe from Hurricanes for as long as they have been tracking them.  Our worst case is a tropical storm.

If you are between Puerto plata and Cabarete you are quite safe any time of year.

  3. Normally the north coast is never really affect by any major hurricane or storm. As September been the high season month of strongest hurricane around the Caribbean. SO most people don't really travel or take vacation. It is also low season for the tourism, is good to get good deal of hotels/resorts and airline tickets. the last 2 weeks of September is ok, I personally think  no major storm or hurricane will hit the north.

Normally the strongest hurricane that hit any island is in the first 2 weeks of September.

Hoping that this was a lil useful!

    Good luck!!

  4. I live for many years in Puerto Plata (north coast) and we never had serious problems with hurricanes, a bit of wind and rain but nothing very serious. So you can book your hollidays here in September. If you need more info or help just let me know.

    Enjoy life !
