Hurricanes and their names etc?

According to the National Hurricane centre the hurricane before Gustav in New Orleans was called Fay - where did Fay occur and what information have you on her? Thanks in advance.

  1. Fay affected parts of the Caribbean and Florida.  It was never a hurricane, but due to it's slow movement across Florida produced a lot of flooding.  You can find a lot more detailed information on Tropical Storm Fay here: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/archive/2008/FAY...


  2. Fay started in the Eastern Atlantic.

    Then it entered the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, affected the entire southeastern seaboard of the US.

    The storm, landed close to Naples at near-hurricane strength, will continued toward Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties on Tuesday 19 August 2008.
